Why We Do It
The Harsh Reality of Girls Being Denied Their Right to Education
In many parts of India, families face heartbreaking decisions due to financial strain, cultural expectations, and deep-rooted gender biases. For many, pulling their daughters out of school seems like the only option to relieve economic pressure or maintain family honor. When a girl is denied this right, her future becomes bleak. Without education, she faces the grim reality of early marriage, household labor, and a life with limited opportunities. Many girls who leave school are married off young, thrust into adult responsibilities before they’re ready. This leads to a life of hardship, perpetuating a cycle of poverty and oppression.
Breaking this cycle requires more than awareness; it demands action. By keeping girls in school, we empower them to change their lives, delay marriage, avoid exploitation, and open doors to opportunities that can lift them and their families out of poverty.
